Attendance Policy and Procedures
Monday Synchronous Attendance
Students are responsible for logging in to their 3rd period/Eagle Time teacher’s virtual classroom at 8:30 in order to be marked present. Students will view the Eagle Morning News and connect with their Eagle Time teacher to review important information for the week ahead. Students must be logged in on Mondays from 8:30 to 9:00 in order to be counted as present for Monday attendance.
Tuesday - Friday Attendance
Teachers take attendance for all classes, whether students are virtual or in person.
For students who are fully virtual, they are responsible for attending synchronous class sessions in accordance with the bell schedule.
For hybrid students, they are responsible for attending synchronous classes on the days they are not in-person and for being at school on days they are in person.
If a student who is supposed to be in person participates virtually instead, this will generate an automatic phone call or email to parents letting them know their student was not attending in person. If you have contacted the front office already to explain the reason for the change, you do not need to contact them again. Please note it can take some time to update codes in SIS before that communication goes out.
If your child is receiving in-person instruction, we encourage outside appointments be scheduled on the days they are not in the building, when possible. We want to minimize the loss of instruction.
