NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION AWARD OF EXCELLENCE The Navy Federal Credit Union will annually present to a Thoreau student the Award for Excellence for outstanding service to school and community. His or her name will be engraved on a plaque that will be displayed in the entrance of Thoreau Middle School. The Award of Excellence will be presented to a student who exemplifies the qualities of service and volunteerism within the school or community. In order to qualify for the award, a student must submit an application. The applications will be reviewed by a panel of representatives from Thoreau and Navy Federal Credit Union. The recipient of the award will be named at Thoreau’s annual Awards Assembly.

THOREAU LETTER APPLICATION 2017-2018 Thoreau letters will be awarded to seventh and eighth grade students who have earned 200 points via academic recognition, participating in a variety of extracurricular activities and serving the community.

THOREAU AMBASSADOR:   Student Ambassadors at Thoreau will represent Thoreau positively and will help build community within our school.  Responsibilities will include giving student tours, helping new students acclimate to Thoreau ie assisting with lockers or navigating the cafeteria.  Ambassadors will work events like New Student Orientation, Back to School Night and/or Curriculum Night.  There will be approximately two meetings after school for training and review in which attendance is required.
